Wooden Manicure
Wooden You Like to Know is from the OPI Holland Collection. I really like the base color, but the golden and copper shimmer from the bottle just did not appear on the nail. That was disappointing. Without a shimmer, it’s just another nice brown.
In November 2011 I decided to document 52 Manicures. This is manicure #21.
First Mow
First mow. Merely the week of March 27th. It is barely spring. In twelve years at this location, this is a record. My goal was always May 1st for the the first mow. I usually made it to the last week of April. April showers bring May flowers and growing grass. This year has been exceptional in it’s early spring weather.
What will the summer be? What will it bring. Let me be sure to have the air-conditioning system checked for efficiency!
Moody Jersey
Vogue 8790 mock wrap top is made of a jersey knit blend. I purchased the fabric in the fall from Mood. I am just getting around to making a garment form it. It is soft and squirrely. I have been reminded of the fact I don’t care for jersey although it is a highly recommended fabric for Vogue 8790.
Lots of colors to work with. Swatches are from Big Huge Labs.
This Time Last Year, March 26, 2011
This was the scene. What a difference a year can make. We had 4” of snow. It was the end of what seemed the longest winter ever.
This year it is 75F and sunny. We are well into spring. What a difference 12 months can make.
Neighborhood Walk
last week I went for a photo walk in the neighborhood. It was a pleasant distraction in the unseasonably warm weather. I know I should walk more frequently. This was a fun way to snap a few pictures not to mention making the steps go by that much quicker.
There is no doubt, it is spring.

Some Like it Haute
Manicure #20. The seasons are changing. this is my last manicure of dark color. Spring is upon us. for this manicure I used China Glaze, Some Like it Haute, layered over OPI Road House Blues.
Road House Blues is a dark blue color from fall 2011. Some Like it Haute is the layer used on top. It is superfine black, blue-gunmetal and charcoal microglitter on a clear base. The navy shows through. I didn’t think I cared for it when I first did it. It look a lot better the morning after in daylight. It has grown on me although I know it will be a beast to remove. That is the problem with glitter polishes.
The season of darker polishes ending, I thought I would go out with a twinkle. I am seeing a lot of green in my future.
